Multi-instrumentalist and occasional jazz vocalist John Cooper is currently a faculty member in Music and Media at the College of the Atlantic, in Bar Harbor, Maine. He has also served as an Assistant Professor of Instrumental Music at Lincoln University, and as Coordinator of Jazz Ensembles at the University of Pennsylvania, before moving to Maine in 1989 from southern New Jersey. In addition to his teaching and composing/arranging, John is an active performing artist, having appeared with such luminaries as Cecil Payne, Fran Warren, Brenda Alford, Jim Snidero, Al Cohn, and Grover Washington, Jr.; under the baton of Etore Stratta; and for entertainers such as Bob Newhart, Joey Bishop, and David Brenner.
